20/10/18 I stopped by the post office and Tmobile shop as I needed a new Sim card then drove to Austin where I booked a hostel for 2 nights. I arrived a bit before 7pm and it was open mic night so I enjoyed live music in the shared area.

21/10/18 I joined the free waking tour of Austin in the morning lead by Laura as today is the only sunny day of the week. I learned about how Texas became what it is, the Capitol, the 20% city growth, the bats, the moon towers and the successful commercial which became the city slogan ‘keep our city weird’, which was initially to fight the big chains and support local businesses.

I had dinner at Torchy’s, a tacos chain I was told is great, and thought it was not bad for a chain, fresh ingredients and cool theme for the deco.

I drove on the famous 6th street in the evening where most of the bars, restaurants and city life are located but didn’t feel like going on my own so I went back to the hostel where I worked on my photo backup and an Excel spreadsheet trying to choose a few numbers to play at the Texas Mega Millions, a lottery offering close to a billion dollars in 2 days.
