27/07/18 Back home for a few days, it was nice to see that the heat wave is still happening. Not a single day under 27 degrees! Charlotte invited me to her swimming pool for the afternoon. It was really nice to catchup with her family again, and I had the chance to see Mathilde too as she picked me up. We played with the kids for a few hours until wasps started to get really aggressive around the pool and Mathilde and I got stung. Visitors may not be so welcome after all! I could not contain my pain (God I forgot how much it hurts!) and I swore at it in front of the kids. To add to my nightmare, my back started to be sore as well, probably because I spent a lot of time on the air mattress on my tummy. Hopefully the night of sleep will help.

28/07/18 Today is Tomorrowland’s day! I have tried to get tickets for years to this electro music festival. The best in the world so far! Thanks to my housemate (who I will never thank enough), Charlotte and I were there in VIP for the day. My back hasn’t improved and I walk like a duck. This is going to work out well with the jumping and dancing. To comfort me, the wasp sting has swollen and covers half of my leg now. Lucky me, the only day of the year I need my body to be strong… I guess karma is telling me I am too old for this!

We arrived on time with no traffic and really close to the entrance thanks to the tips of a friend of Cha who was there previously. We exchanged our paper tickets for the famous bracelet and explored the park.

As my back was still very sore, I decided to try the emergency service and check whether they have a chiro or physiotherapist. They gave me ice and cream for my swollen leg (it didn’t look too good either) and a guy reduced my back pain a little so I could walk a bit better. Another visitor was there with a mosquito bite on his neck, he felt a bit embarrassed looking at my leg. Boys can be so squeamish!

We stayed till the end to watch the final show on the main stage (Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike) but we both enjoyed the set of Sebastian Ingrosso above all. The park was amazing with decors, stages, buildings, actors all in the theme. Food was great too. Thanks to the VIP tickets we had access to clean toilets and rest areas with a seperate bar so we never had to queue for long, which is nice when you stand for 12h in a row. It really was a dream come true. The best DJs in the world all in one place. We also honoured Avicii for a few minutes, who sadly took his own life this year. The festival would not be what it became without him!

29/07/18 Jojo took me to dinner to my favorite place and we met with Greg and Flo for a movie. Can’t recall last time I went to the cinema, even though I used to go a lot.

30/07/18 I drove to Liege to meet with the Sydney Belgian crew (aka the group of Belgians I met in Sydney) as everyone is back to Belgium this summer. How weird (but awesome!) to meet all of them here. We celebrated my bday as well (the granny of the group!). I really wonder when and where I will meet them again, as everyone has different plans this time. Our paths will cross again I am sure.

31/07/18 Nice 3 course dinner with family, with a giant cup of strawberries to finish the night.
